The Breakfast Club

I've now gone to my second performance in three days!  Tonight I went to see a school production for the first time.  It was of 'The Breakfast Club'.

For those of you who don't know what 'The Breakfast Club' is, it's a movie made in the 1980s and is basically about five stereo-typical high school students being stuck in Saturday detention together.  There's the criminal, the athlete, the brain, the basket case and the princess.  The movie is about how these people all have their own reputations, but they all also have their own problems and they're same in a way.  There should be nothing stopping them from being friends.  I know that sounds so cliché and doesn't really apply to the present day, but think of it like how we don't really hang out with people that aren't in our group, and we also look down on certain groups.  Not stereo-typing or judging people is always an important lesson to learn.

Anyway, back to the play, it was amazing!  There was such good acting and the looks were pretty much spot on, courtesy of the textiles people.  The play consisted of a funny little janitor, quite a lot of swearing, a psychopathic teacher, a little drug dealing, a chase, a fight scene and some interesting conversations.

One of the cutest scenes was one of the kissing scenes.  The 'basket case' walks out after having just gone through a make over.  The athlete sees her and slowly strides towards her.  It was such an awh moment!!!

After watching the play I feel as if the actors on the stage are real celebrities, not just people from my school or the boys school.  I know that they all go to class like me and this is just an extra-curricular.  I know that one of the guys takes my friend's bus (that friend got a new haircut and it actually looks stunning).  I think I even saw them after, while I was walking to my dad's car.  Now that I think about it, I probably should've congratulated them or something, but no.  Instead I walked past a little intimidated.  I'm a little awkward like that.

You know, acting in a production actually looks so fun!  You would be committed to something, get to wear cool costumes, makeup, get to pretend to be someone else for a while, people would come to watch you, it would be a chance to meet some boys ;).  In fact, acting in movies and stuff in general sounds awesome.  Unfortunately acting is not something I'm particularly into, and it's very unlikely to become a famous block buster movie star anyway.

So yeah, the play was great.  If your school production looks interesting, go ahead and watch it!  Just because they're not professionals doesn't mean they're bad actors.

Don't youuuu forget about me *fist pumps in the air*

Love,
M
